ECR HQ gets new solar power grid

ECR GM Madhuresh Kumar on Wednesday inaugurated a newly built 10.4kW solar power grid at the ECR’s headquarters at Hajipur. It is the second solar power system installed at the ECR headquarters to meet the needs of its administrative building.

Speaking on the occasion, Kumar said solar power system was the best option these days. It would help the railways save energy costs and escape the problems caused by frequent power cuts at Hajipur. The new system is also environment friendly, he said.

According to ECR CPRO Amitabh Prabhakar, the solar grid connected power system has the capacity to supply 50 units power to the administrative block of the ECR. Prior to this, the railways had installed a solar power system of the same capacity at the old building of ECR headquarters, he said.
