Rail-art festival to showcase paintings

Nagpur Division of Central Railways (CR) in association with Central Railway Cultural Academy and South Central Zone Cultural Centre is organizing a rail-art festival ‘Rail Kala Sangam’ from January 25 to 27.

Artists from all over the country will be participating in this festival whose theme is Indian Railways. “Indian Railways has made immense contribution towards the country’s development. This is an attempt to highlight it,” said Brijesh Dixit, divisional railway manager (DRM), CR.

The participating artists will make their oil and acrylic paintings on January 25 and 26 at the Satpuda Rail Club, Civil Lines. On January 27 at 11am the finished paintings will be exhibited at the newly constructed waiting hall on the Wardha end of platform number one of Nagpur railway station. After the exhibition, the paintings will be put on permanent display at various stations.
