Beat boredom on board the train

Audio and video entertainment service on board the Mysore–Talaguppa Intercity Express was inaugurated at the railway station here on Wednesday.

Mysore Divisional Railway Manager Vinod Kumar launched the “infotainment” facility, in which 44 24-inch LCD television sets and 108 speakers have been installed on the train.

Every hour of telecast time is divided into 45 minutes of entertainment and 15 minutes of commercials.

Passengers get to watch programmes on health, music, wildlife, sports, travel and leisure, as well as reality shows, cartoons, social awareness messages and safety alerts.

This is the fifth train in the Mysore division with onboard infotainment system.

Additional Divisional Railway Manager Rakesh Kumar Gupta and Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Anup Dayanand Sadhu were among the officials present.
