IRCTC to set up 250 tourist helplines in Bihar

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has decided to set up 250 help line centres across the state to assist tourists visiting different tourist spots in Bihar.

IRCTC’s Zonal Tourism Officer Shishir Khare made this announcement in Patna. He said all information regarding the historical importance of tourist spots; transportation and other facilities for the tourists would be available at these help line centres.

The IRCTC will also train about 200 e-Ticketing agents in the state for marketing purpose. The corporation is set to introduce provisions for luggage insurance.

“Till date there is no provision for compensation of luggage either lost or stolen. But we are going to start luggage insurance for Rs 50 very soon,” Khare said.

Under the provision, tourists can get their luggage insured and claim the payment in cash if any item is stolen.
